The Faculty of International Relations and Politics of the North-West Institute of Management branch of RANEPA hosted a competition of university and school students’ academic papers on political science named after Max Weber. The competition was initially created as a student initiative, but it was eventually supported by the faculty and university. The papers for the competition are first selected by the students and then by a professional jury.

The competition is aimed at undergraduate, graduate, and specialist students as well as school students who wish to demonstrate their research skills. The annual competition is organised to stimulate the youngsters’ interest in studying political ideas and processes in Russia and abroad as well as help young professionals develop their skills in presenting the results of their research projects.

As a result of the competition, student of the MSSES programme ‘World Politics’ Maksim Nikitin, who wrote a paper titled “Hypostasis of the Empire: Xinjiang as China's Pressure Point. Analysis of the Region Administration Policy” has become the nominee in the “Public Policy” section. Maksim spoke at the concluding conference of the competition on 29 April 2022 in Saint Petersburg. Our congratulations to Maksim!
