Contest for participation in the course “Systemic Thinking for Sustainable Development”

The Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences is launching a contest for participation in the training programme “Systemic Thinking for Sustainable Development”. The contest winners will be granted free places at the programme.


Duration of the programme: 3 months

Form of education: evening classes, online

Number of places: 3

Application deadline: 6 March

Contest results: 14 March

Start of the training programme: 5 April


The contest is intended for the residents of Russian regions who actively work (professionally or as volunteers) in fields related to social and/or environmental sustainable development and those who wish to gain additional education in that field.



Procedure for selecting participants

Requirements for the candidates:
The candidates must permanently reside on the territory of the Russian Federation.
They must have a diploma of higher or post-secondary education at the date of application.
Their English level should be high enough to comprehend the information provided within the programme in English (confirming certificate not required)

Upon completing the course, the students receive the MSSES certificate of advanced training under the programme “New Ecology. Systemic Thinking for Sustainable Development”.

Procedure for selecting participants
The selection of participants is carried out based on the results of the open contest, in which all candidates fitting the specified criteria may participate.

Application and modalities for participation

The application for participation in the contest has to include:
The applicant’s motivation letter of up to 1,5 pages describing their work and/or volunteer projects in the field of social and/or environmental sustainable development, how they view themselves and their role in the context of sustainable development, and their motivation for undertaking the programme (the project may be provided separately in the form of presentation, but its history, role, impact, and goals have to be specified in the motivation letter).
Documents required for the enrolment: passport (page with the photo + page with the registration information), diploma with the attachment, TIN, SNILS, certificate confirming the surname change (if different surnames are stated in the diploma and the passport).

Application deadline – 1 March.

The contest coordinator sends the applicants selection results to each participant via email. The decision-making committee consists of the course authors: Master of Science in Strategic Sustainable Development A. Laukkanen and Master of Science in Strategic Sustainable Development A. Yuzefovich.
